Miner co-founded Birch Hill and for over 35 years provided investment counseling and investment research for high net worth clients. Prior to co-founding Birch Hill, he was a Managing Director at Seaward Management. He also held positions at P.D. Sinclair and Associates and started his career as an equity analyst at Liberty Mutual and Arkwright Insurance.

Miner has a BA from Amherst College, an MA from Tufts, and an MBA from Boston University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the CFA Society Boston, the CFA Institute, and The Boston Economic Club. He is a Trustee of the Sudbury Foundation and a Trustee of the Wayside Inn Historical Site. He is a former Director and Treasurer of the Boston Security Analysts Society (now CFA Society Boston). He also served as an Overseer of the Bank of America Celebrity Series and was Co-Chair of its Investment Committee.
