Matthew W. Malicki, CFA

ASSISTANT PORTFOLIO MANAGER

Matthew joined Birch Hill in 2022. Matt’s duties include securities research, assisting in the management of portfolios, and fixed income trading. Before Birch Hill, Matthew was an Investment Operations Associate with Dolan McEniry Capital Management, LLC.

Matthew received his BS in Finance and Business Economics from Marquette University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Boston, where he serves on the Emerging Leaders Committee. He is a volunteer with Steppingstone’s STRIVE (Scholars Thriving through Relationships, Internships, and Valuable Experience) Mentoring Program.

Q: What are your role and responsibilities at Birch Hill?
A: I am responsible for analyzing publicly traded companies, executing our fixed income research and trading strategies, and assisting with reporting and presentation materials.

Q: What do you think Birch Hill’s best qualities are?
A: Our culture. It encourages us to be forward thinkers by promoting intellectual curiosity and the desire to learn new things.

Q: What about what you do brings you the most personal satisfaction?
A: Being comfortable going against the crowd.

Q: When you’re not working, how do you spend your time?
A: I am an avid runner and baker. I hope to perfect the chocolate chip cookie.

Q: If you weren’t at Birch Hill, what do you think you’d be doing?
A: I would be a writer or a journalist. I enjoy meeting new people and learning about their experiences. And I love a good story.
